Albe Steiner was an influential Italian graphic designer, a key figure in the mid-20th-century modernist movement who connected art with social and political activism. He believed that design should be accessible and serve a clear, social purpose, a principle he called "preventative cultural communication". His commitment to design as a tool for communication and social progress has left a lasting impact on Italian graphic design.

Albe Steiner created the poster Manifesto per la Pace (Manifesto for Peace) in 1956 for the first International Committee for Peace in Vienna. The poster is a powerful example of Steiner's modernist design philosophy, combining bold, clear graphics with a strong social message.
